Masen, the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy, has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) for the first phase of the Noor Midelt (NoorM I) solar power project.

Located some 25 kilometres north-east of the town of Midelt, in an area of 2,400 hectares, NoorM I project will be composed of one or several power plants with a hybrid technology, combining concentrated solar power (CSP) with photovoltaics (PV).

The project is expected to have a total capacity of 400 MW and it will be implemented under the independent power producer (IPP) scheme. The preferred bidder will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the power plant.

Interested parties must submit their expression of interest (EOI) on 1 February 2016.
