Sri Lanka launches tender process 40km transmission line

The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy of Sri Lanka has launched the tender for the development of the Renewable Energy Absorption Transmission Development Project.              

The project involves the construction and completion of 132 kV transmission lines of total length approximately 40 km to connect Maliboda, Nawalapitiya, Ragala and Wewalwatta Grid Substations to the transmission network of Ceylon Electricity Board.

National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with both Asian Development Bank’s (ADB’s) and Agence Française de Développement’s (AFD’s) Single Stage: One Envelope Bidding Procedures. In addition to National Bidders, this procurement of works is open to Foreign Bidders as well provided that they are from eligible source countries of the AFD.

A pre-bid meeting will take place in the Auditorium, 7th floor, Ceylon Electricity Board, Colombo 02, Sri Lanka at 10.00 am on 16th August 2017.

The deadline for interested bidders is on or before 10.00  AM September 13, 2017.
