Trianel Erneuerbare Energien has announced it is investing in a wind farm project in the Bavarian district of Bayreuth in Germany. The wind farm Creussen with a capacity of 14.4 MW was acquired by Trianel Erneuerbare Energien GmbH and Co KG (TEE).
It is being built by Fronteris GmbH, which started construction in late August. Trianel continues the cooperation with the Fronteris, whose first collaboration was the project located in Eckersdorf and Thurnau 30 kilometers away
The facility will consist of six Nordex turbines and the wind farm will produce around 35 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year, enough to power 28,000 people. It is expected to be completed in May 2017.
By 2018, Trianel's portfolio is to be expanded to at least 275 MW. Currently it comprises this wind farm and four projects in Rhineland-Palatinate, Bavaria and Hesse totaling around 56 MW of wind power and 20 MW of solar capacity in Brandenburg.
