EGE Haina is an electricity generation company that operates in favor of the development and balance of the Dominican electricity sector. The company is an alliance between the State and the private sector and was founded by the Public Company Reform Law on October 28, 1999.
The company is the main mixed company (50% public - 50% private) in the country in assets, investment and contribution to the State, with USD1,000 million in assets.
EGE Haina has designed a growth strategy by 2030 that includes the development of 1,000 MW from non-conventional renewable sources (wind and solar photovoltaic), the optimization of part of its generation assets through the conversion to natural gas, and the development of 400 MW of new electricity generation with natural gas.
