Chilean power company Colbún has acquired a stake in SunEdison's projects in Chile. The company has also signed a contract whereby it will supply power for a PV solar project that Sun Edison is developing in the country.
The agreement comprises of the purchase of two solar projects, which are currently being developed.
The 145 MW Olmué Solar Park in the region of Valparaíso is the larger one and it has already received the environmental approval.
The other project, 57 MW Santa Sofía Solar park in Santiago, is still seeking the environmental permit.
Both projects will be hooked to the nation’s Central Grid (SIC).
In addition to the sale of the projects, Colbun has agreed to supply 350 GWh for a period of 15 years. Colbun and SunEdison have signed, as well, a power purchase agreement for 200 GWh annual for 15 years.
