Dutch Government announces conditions for offshore wind tender

The Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Henk Kamp, has sent a letter to the House of Parliament announcing details about the offshore wind energy tender to be released in 2015.

Subsidy for two sites in the Borssele zone will be made available with this tender.

In the letter, the Minister has highlighted recent developments about the conditions of the first tender in the Borssele zone in December 2015.

The Minister also explained the calculations regarding the maximum tender amounts and the subsidy cost for offshore wind energy. The letter can be found here (in Dutch).

In March 2015, according to sources, Members of the Dutch House of Representatives recently gave the green light to offshore wind farms proposed to be built 18 to 22 kilometers off North Holland, South Holland and (Borssele) Zeeland.

Energieakkoord, the Dutch Energy Agreement, sets out a target of 3,450 MW of offshore wind energy by 2023.
