Florida’s Seminole Electric seeks up to 1,000 MW of capacity

Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc. (SECI), a company based in Florida (USA) has launched a request for proposals (RFP) to provide up to 1000 megawatts (MW) starting as early as June 1, 2021.

The mission of Seminole Electric Cooperative is to provide reliable, competitively priced, wholesale electric power to its nine Member distribution electric cooperatives. The firm estimates a need for capacity of 600 MW by June 2021, with total needs estimated at 1,000 MW in June 2022.

SECI is seeking proposals of base, intermediate, peaking or renewable energy capacity. The company will also accept proposals providing demand-side options. Additionally, the firm will evaluate self-build alternatives to cover the estimated capacity needs.
