France announces tenders for biomass energy plants

The French Ministry of Energy, through the Energy regulator CRE, has launched a tender process to develop biomass facilities as part of its 150 MW biomass energy programme.

The tender comprises two types of biomass technology, one for 10 MW of small scale biogas facilities and the other for 50 MW wood fired power plants. For the second group, 10 MW out of the total 50 MW will be composed by small-scale facilities of up to 3 MW.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before August 16, 2016.

The second and the third tender process of the programme also involve 10 MW of small scale biogas facilities and 50 MW wood fired power plants each. 

The second tender process is scheduled to be launched by March 1, 2017 and the deadline to submit proposals will be September 1, 2017.

The third tender process is scheduled to be launched by February 28, 2018 and the deadline to submit proposals will be August 31, 2018.
