GDF Suez becomes Engie French gas utility GDF Suez has announced that it has changed its name to Engie to reflect the group's transformation.As a global energy player, Engie operates in close to 70 countries on 5 continents. The firm currently is, among others:
  • No.1 independent power producer (IPP) in the world.
  • No.1 independent power producer (IPP) in the Persian Gulf countries, Brazil and Thailand.
The firms has, among others:
  • 115.3 GW of installed power-production capacity.
  • 10.5 GW of power-production capacity under construction.
  • 19 GW of installed power-production capacity in renewable energy (16.5% of the base).
  • No.1 gas distribution network in Europe
Gérard Mestrallet, Chairman and CEO of Engie declares :
