Germany has launched the country’s fourth solar power tender under the pay-as-bid model. The process, which targets 125 MW of capacity, has April 1, 2016 as deadline for the submission of bids.
Germany held during 2015 tenders for 500 MW of solar photovoltaic capacity and expects to award contracts for 400 MW capacity this year and 300 MW in 2017.
The auction will allow projects planned for agricultural land, in Less Favoured Areas (LFA) where agricultural production was hurt by natural handicaps.
According to sources, the change in area limitations is expected to increase competition in the tender.
The maximum bidding price remains €0.1109 per kWh despite the fact that the rates in the third solar power tender declined to €0.080 per kWh.
