India’s Bombay Suburban Electric Supply (BSES) Yamuna Power Ltd along with BSES Rajdhani Power have launched a 700 MW renewable tender process.
Interested parties were invited to submit their technical bids by January 16. The power purchase agreements (PPA) for the selected projects are expected to be signed by March 2016.
BSES Yamuna and BSES Rajdhani already launched a tender process in November 2014, but they withdrew it due to the fact that it yielded an average tariff of INR6.47 (USD 0.0952) per kWh. This time they are aiming at about INR5 (US$0,0736) per kWh.
We have recently reported that Cowi was granted the contract to design India's first offshore wind farm, which is to be located off the coast of Gujarat in northwestern India.
