The Government of Karnataka (India) has announced plans to undertake the development of 500MW of solar thermal and/or solar PV power plants in the state.
The Government of Karnataka through Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd. (KREDL), a government agency to facilitate the development of renewable energy in the state, has issued a tender process to seek developer for the solar projects.
The projects will be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) basis under and in accordance with the provisions of the power purchase agreement to be entered between the developer and the concerned electricity supply company (ESCOM).
Interested parties could submit proposals under solar thermal technology, solar PV technology or both. The bidders could propose any number of projects. Minimum capacity of the project proposed shall be at least 3MW and the maximum capacity could be 500 MW.
A pre bid conference will be hold on 3 July 2014. Interested parties can submit their proposals from 1 September 2014, the deadline is not determined.
