PNE WIND AG sells the Calau II C and D wind farms to Allianz

The wind farm project developer, PNE WIND AG, has sold two wind farms located in Brandenburg (Germany), Calau II C and Calau II D to Allianz.

The two wind farms, each with 5 wind energy systems, have a combined nominal output of 30.8MW PNE WIND AG developed both of the wind farms and will also take over the technical operations management upon their completion.

While the Calau II C wind farm and a necessary transformer substation have already been commissioned, construction work is currently still being carried out on the Calau II D section.

In order to be able to make optimum use of the location in a forested area, PNE WIND AG selected the Vestas V112 3.0MW wind energy systems with a particularly high hub height of 140 metres. This ensures that the new turbines can produce environmentally friendly electricity from the wind equivalent to the annual consumption of about 26,000 four person households.

Allianz has purchased several projects located in Germany and abroad from WKN AG in the past. This cooperation is now being continued with the PNE WIND Group.

Martin Billhardt, CEO of PNE WIND AG, stated:

With the sale of these projects, we are particularly pleased with the continuation of our collaboration with Allianz. The wind farms represent a lasting investment and strengthen Allianz's activities in the renewable energy sector.

Udo Follrichs, who conducted negotiations on behalf of PNE WIND AG, stated:

In view of our large project portfolio, we see this sale as the prelude to further productive cooperation.

David Jones, Head of Renewable Energy for Allianz, stated:

We are delighted with the addition of the Calau project to our portfolio. The German wind market continues to be one of our core markets. We have already been collaborating successfully with WKN AG for a long time and now look forward to continuing this in the newly formed NE WIND Group. We also hope to continue this collaboration within the framework of future projects.
