PSEG Long Island, which provides electric service to approximately 1.1 million customers, has launched a tender process for a total of 375 MW capacity.
To be more specific, PSEG Long Island has launched a request for proposals (RFP) for 160 MWs of resources in Far Rockaway by December 31, 2020, increasing to 275 MWs by 2030. Additionally, at Glenwood the RFP is seeking 100 MWs by December 31, 2020 with no increase thereafter.
The RFP is open to all resource types that can meet the specified performance requirements, including conventional generation, energy efficiency, demand response, distributed energy resources, and energy storage resources.
Interested Respondents, though, must propose a solution that meets total resource requirements at either or both locations but may contract with other providers to provide portions of those requirements. However, a single party must be the contracting entity responsible for the performance of the entire solution.
Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before May 23, 2016.
