Trianel acquires 19 MW wind project in Germany

Trianel Erneuerbare Energien GmbH has acquired the 19 MW Vogelherd wind farm in northern Bavaria, Germany.

The wind farm consist of 8 wind turbines Nordex N117 / 2400 and is currently being built on agricultural land in the municipality Eckersdorf, 6 turbines, and the remaining 2 turbines are being disposed in the community of Thurnau. According to Trianel, the 199 meter high wind turbines will produce around 47,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity every year.

Fronteris GmbH is the responsible for the construction of the wind farm and the subsequent operation and maintenance. 

The equipment works on site began in early May 2016, and the completion and commissioning of the wind farm is planned for the first quarter of 2017.

Trianel GmbH was established in 1999 with the aim of pooling the interests of municipal utilities and regional energy suppliers and boosting their independence and competitiveness on the energy market. Trianel is active in power generation, gas storage and the development of new business models for municipal utilities.
