Uganda launches tender for waste-to-energy PPP plant

Uganda's National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has launched a request for proposals (RFP) to develop Waste-to-Energy PPP project for its Kampala Service Area.

The project will be developed on a design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) basis. The concession will be for period of 20 years.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 21 September 2015.

Bidding will be conducted in accordance with open international bidding procedures approved by Uganda's Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA).

In February this year we reported that the Government of Uganda officially announced that Russia’s RT Global Resources-led consortium is the winner of the $2.5 billion oil refinery contract. It involves development of a refinery with a capacity of 60,000 BPD, development of crude oil and product storage facilities on site, as well as a 205-kilometer product pipeline to a terminal near Kampala.
