The Brazilian Bank will provide funding for three solar photovoltaic facilities totaling 350 MW of Enel, and a 132 MW project under development by Norwegian companies Scatec Solar and a Statoil.

The financing package is worth BRL 678,7 million (US$212.6 million) in funds for two projects in Tabocas do Brejo Velho and Bom Jesus da Lapa, both located in the state of Bahia. Another solar facility located in Ribeira do Piauí, in the state of Piauí is also involved in the deal.

Enel is also financing these projects with their own funds in the amount of  BRL 795,7 million.

Moreover, it has been announced that the 132 MW Apodi solar project will also be financed by the Brazilian bank. The project is under development by Norwegian developer Scatec Solar and Norway’s oil group Statoil, in partnership with local developer Kroma Energia. The bank has provided a BRL 477.4 million loan, while the project’s consortium will contribute another BRL 187.4 million of its own funds.

Back in October, Statoil agreed to acquire a 40% stake in the Apodi project. The project was selected by the Brazilian energy regulator ANEEL in the reserve energy auction it held in November 2015 and has a 20-year power purchase agreement with CCEE, the Brazilian Power Commercialization Chamber.
